The YMCA of Greater Louisville is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other.
Our efforts are wide-ranging, but our focus is on three areas of impact: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. In each of these areas, we offer programs and services that support people of all ages and backgrounds to be healthier in spirit, mind, and body.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: The YMCA is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. From cradle to career, the Y empowers young people to lead inspired, successful lives. Through programs like Youth Sports, Swim Lessons, and YMCA Black Achievers, children and teens build confidence, learn foundational skills, and develop meaningful relationships. The YMCA of Greater Louisville is the largest provider of childcare in Kentucky, serving thousands of families through preschool, before- and after-school care, and summer camps, including YMCA Camp Piomingo, each year.
HEALTHY LIVING: The YMCA aims to improve our nation's health by providing programs and activities that promote overall well-being, no matter where you are on your journey toward better health. Our newest program, Total Movement with Parkinson's, aims to help individuals living with idiopathic Parkinson's through a personalized fitness plan. When people feel their best and have fulfilling lifestyles, our communities become stronger.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: The YMCA believes our communities are strongest when everyone is included and has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We welcome and connect people of all generations, backgrounds and perspectives, and we're committed to addressing issues that people face to create positive change. Through pivotal programs like YMCA Safe Place Services, which provides critical support for youth and families in crisis, and the YMCA’s New American Welcome Center, which assists immigrants and refugees with integration into their new communities, the Y works to build communities in which everyone can thrive.
If you wish to support a specific Y program, please include the program name in the comment section of your donation!
Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
