We allow low-income families to work or obtain an education by providing full day care to children 6 months to 5 years of age. Children receive early care and education which prepares them for success in life.

Young Horizons has been supporting children and families throughout the city of Long Beach for over 50 years. Young Horizons is one of the largest childcare providers in Long Beach with five centers and serving over 300 children (ages six months to five years). Our state funding does not fully cover all operating expenses; therefore, we count on community partners, such as you, to support our programs.

Parents go to work or to school with peace of mind knowing their child is safe and cared for in a caring, loving and learning environment. Children love to play, learn and spend their day in their "home-away-from-home" early education program that includes a hot breakfast, lunch and snack. By assisting low-income families with full day care for little to no cost, we ensure that not one, but two generations have a chance of success.

Testimonials

"Mrs. Monica’s attention to detail and understanding towards our son’s emotions is always appreciated. Best teacher ever! Will forever be thankful for Teacher Monica!"

"Mrs. Christian always greets and gives Emilio a hug. She makes him feel safe and hears what he has to say. All teachers are kind and wonderful!!"

"Teacher Christian and Teacher Nancy are both amazing teachers. They go above and beyond to help and teach Aliyah what she needs. I know Aliyah loves both of her teachers as she is always talking about them at home and I know I feel comfortable leaving Aliyah with them. They truly amazing and I’m glad Aliyah has them both to help her continue to learn different things in the classroom. She is definitely improving thank you!"

"Ms. Sonia and Ms. Myklynn are very good and my kids always come home learning something new ."

"Teacher Rosa has always made Elena feel welcomed. She is very nurturing with all her students and very attentive. Every time I have any questions or concerns she is always on top of things, to the point where she reaches out to me before I do to her. Elena went through a personal loss last summer when she lost her kitty. When teacher Rosa found out, she was there to check in on her well being and mental health. Teacher Rosa is greatly appreciated and will be surely missed when Elena moves on to Kindergarten. "

"I feel like Ms. Nancy is very caring over the students and is genuinely a very good person. I trust my child with her and it makes me feel great dropping Luna off to school and being excited to see her teacher. "

"Teacher is always so welcome and caring with my child. We love that she constantly contributes to my daughter Spanish language development. We love teacher “Tina”
