Youth Service Bureau-Big Brothers Big Sisters of Laporte County Inc

The Youth Service Bureau-Big Brother Big Sisters of LaPorte County was created in 1972 and continues to provide programs and services relevant to youth and families of today. YSB is an organization with these core values:

The foundation of these values is utilized in disseminating information and connecting youth to the community through continued guidance and mentoring.

 

The YSB currently offers these programs:

 

Kids on the Block- This program educates all second graders in LaPorte County about physical and sexual abuse.                                                                                                                                                                     

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters and BBBS "School Buddies"- BBBS strives to make a positive difference in the lives of young people through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring adults.

 

Teen Court Program-This program is for first time juvenile offenders who plead guilty to minor offenses and choose to accept consequences from a jury of their peers.

 

 

Summer Program-This program is for students entering 4th through 6th grade and provides a variety of life skills lessons, recreational opportunities, and field trips both locally and to Chicago to visit one of the museums.
