I have learned to an even greater extent how much I enjoy serving others. It feels so good to look at the finished projects, the piles of medical and education supplies, and the kids smiling faces. We worked SO hard and it was totally worth it. – Emma Stephens, Park City H.S. multiple Service Year participant.

Emma's sentiments reflect the mission & purpose of Youthlinc: inspiring young people to help others through leadership opportunities where they understand their power to make a difference, locally & internationally.

We accomplish our mission through four core programs:

The Service Year offers local and international service opportunities to students. Enrolled students have the opportunity to serve two weeks in one of six Youthlinc international program sites in Cambodia, Kenya, Guatemala, Peru, Vietnam and Thailand.

However, to qualify for the international experience, participants must volunteer locally 80 hours during their Service Year, and attend a monthly meeting where they are mentored to take leadership roles in international service activities. Professionals serve as mentors in our Service Year program.

The Youthlinc Utah Local Service Directory provides a selective list of organizations and agencies that offer hands-on volunteer opportunities in a positive mentoring atmosphere.

Though our society recognizes young people for their accomplishments in sports & academics, the Annual Young Humanitarian Award offers a $5,000 college scholarship foroutstanding humanitarian service among youth.

Real Life Salt Lake City is an afterschool life skills education & mentoring program serving over 70 teenage refugee students & providing over 70 Utah students with mentorship experiences.
