YSA engages children and youth, ages 5-25, to solve social and environment problems in more than 100 countries on six continents.

As YSA celebrates its 25th year, we are excited to inspire even more youth to design and lead projects that engage their peers in addressing and developing solutions for the most critical and substantial problems in their communities.

in 2011, young people led more than 3,500 YSA supported projects and campaigns, examples of which include engaging youth in nutrition and fitness programs designed to address the crisis of childhood obesity, building emergency transitional housing units in Brazil and Haiti, planting trees in New York City, raising awareness about water conservation in Turkey, and developing the only battery recycling center in Hawaii.

Today, youth are engaging in community service at record rates. At YSA, we see them as urgent response or "ASAP," teams, leading efforts in their communities to promote and provide Awareness, Service, Advocacy, and Philanthropy. They increase Awareness around issues such as recycling; provide critical Service by running food drives and mentoring their peers; Advocate for issues such as youth rights, and initiate Philanthropy by generating funds and providing in-kind resources to community programs.

By 2015, YSA hopes to reach 3.7 million youth impacting 5,000 communities worldwide. We invite your generous support and partnership to help us achieve this ambitious goal. Thank you for your commitment to supporting YSA in our efforts to engage youth to solve problems throughout the world!
