To raise awareness and gain support across the USA to help empower women with the skills, resources, and support networks to start businesses and social service projects to sustain themselves, their families, and their communities.

HIV/AIDS and poverty are ravaging South Africa. Zimele USA works towards a longterm solution through programs that instill self-reliance and restore dignity into the lives of so many women and children in poverty. The hope is to rebuild these rural South Africa villages one community at a time.

In the Zulu language, Zimele translates into "to stand on one's own feet". Instead of a charity approach that reinforces a dependency on others, Zimele seeks to build a spirit of self-reliance by equiping individuals with the skills and tools necessary to develop psychological and financial independence via programming such as community mentoring, Savings-based Self Help Groups (SHGs), Cluster Level Associations and Federations.
