A Caring Place's ministry is to provide relationships and fellowship with the elderly and disabled who are living socially isolated lives.   A Caring Place currently has 86 people over the age of 70, all of them disabled who we care for who are living in the community. 

As we expand our services throughout Lexington, we envision our numbers will grow exponentially.  Added to that, every one out of four adults in Lexington will be over 65.    We are sure to see a growing level of poverty.   

This Tuesday, I’m asking for your help—because too many of
our elderly and disabled neighbors in Lexington are going hungry.

At A Caring Place, we see it every single week.

Seniors living alone on $900–$1,200 a month, whose SNAP
benefits are often $40 to $90.

You and I both know: That does not feed anyone.

Not for a month. Not for a week. Not even close.

Some people say, “Well, SNAP will take care of them.”

I wish that were true.

But SNAP is not taking care of them—not even in the smallest
sense.

Their cupboards are bare. Their fridges are empty.

And they are choosing between food, medicine, and rent.

A Caring Place steps into that gap.

We bring food. We bring meals.

We bring human connection.

We bring hope.

But we cannot feed them without you.

On Bluegrass Community Gives Day, your donation will go
directly toward feeding the elderly and disabled right here in Lexington—people
who built this community, served this community, and now desperately need this
community’s help.

Every dollar matters.

$10 fills a bag with pantry staples.

$50 provides a week of groceries for a housebound senior.

$100 keeps a freezer stocked with emergency meals.

$500 sponsors a month of supplemental food support for the
most vulnerable.

Please—give generously this Tuesday.

Give because SNAP isn’t enough.

Give because hunger is real.

Give because A Caring Place is often the only line of
defense these seniors have.

Let’s show them they are not forgotten.
