About the A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co.

Our 2026 Erie Gives goal is $15,000 to help fund the purchase of a new hydraulic rescue tool used to free trapped victims during vehicle accidents and other rescue emergencies.

For more than a century, A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co. has proudly served the residents of Girard and surrounding communities. As a volunteer fire department, our members respond to fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, technical rescues, hazardous conditions, and countless calls for assistance throughout our community and surrounding mutual aid areas.

Our department is made up of dedicated volunteers who answer the call at all hours of the day and night. Whether it is a house fire, a serious motor vehicle accident, a medical emergency, or a community event, our members are committed to protecting the people who call this area home.

In 2025, the A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co. was dispatched to more than 1,200 emergency calls for service throughout Girard and surrounding mutual aid communities.

As the needs of our community continue to grow, we remain focused on modernizing our equipment, enhancing firefighter training, improving emergency response capabilities, and investing in new technology that helps us serve more effectively. These efforts ensure our volunteers have the resources needed to respond safely and efficiently when emergencies occur.
