A Recipe to End Hunger

A nonprofit organization

$531 raised by 13 donors

“A Recipe to End Hunger” started in 2015 (Registered as “A Recipe to End Hunger and Need” EIN 47-2573468).  We are a 501c3 that originally focused mainly on childhood hunger.   Since the pandemic we have found it important to shift our support to meet the needs of not only children but families who find themselves asking for assistance for the first time as well as the needs of the increasing number of houseless.  We even had our first fundraiser collecting dog and cat food in 2023 to help families with the overwhelming cost of feeding their pets because so many have had to surrender them due to the high cost of just making ends meet.  When you support “A Recipe to End Hunger”, 100% of the funds collected and the items donated go to support programs already in place that are serving our community members who are in need in some way.  We have no paid staff.  We are able to rally friends, families, and those who follow our platform or out President Dawne Gee on-air or on-line to get the job done.  Those existing programs that work tirelessly, lack the capital or resources needed to do the job they work so hard to do daily.  We try to help collect whatever it is they need in several ways.  We have concerts, karaoke, cooking contest, jazz on the river and other endless efforts all through the year.  “A Recipe to End Hunger” selects programs through the year to support and make sure they have the funds, the material and anything else they need to do their work to the best of their ability.  355-days a year, we raise money or collect items to support numerous programs in our community.  Our goal is to try to keep any program from falling short due to funds or the need of material.
