Acacia Medical Mission

Acacia began out of a very personal experience. Our founder, then working as a nurse practitioner and carrying health insurance for her family, suddenly found herself laid off. With two young boys at home, life was already uncertain—then her youngest was seriously injured during that season in between jobs. Facing thousands of dollars in medical bills, her oldest son looked at her and said, “Mom, why don’t you start a clinic for people like us?”—meaning families without insurance.

That simple question became the spark. After five years of paperwork, persistence, and many conversations with God, Acacia opened its doors in August 2011. Since then, we have cared for more than 700 patients and touched countless lives. Perhaps most profoundly, the staff and volunteers themselves have been changed by the stories, gratitude, and resilience of those we serve. Their encouragement keeps our hearts full and our mission moving forward.

Who We Are

We are a low cost healthcare clinic for low income uninsured and underinsured patients in Comal & Blanco Counties. We help patients with Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes, and minor mental health issues. We also do women's health screenings.
