The Arts Center of Brazos Valley

Since 1970, The Arts Center serves the community with one driving mission: to make the arts accessible to all residents and visitors of the Brazos Valley through funding, promotion, advocacy, professional development and partnership building programs. We are a multifaceted arts organization supporting over 60 affiliate arts, culture, and heritage organizations, regional artists and creative businesses, over 350k residents in 7 counties, and over 3.5m Brazos Valley regional visitors annually.

Founded in 1970, The Arts Center is a nonprofit dedicated to making arts accessible. Serving the Brazos Valley, it has provided over $4 million in funding since 2008. The Arts Center provides a central location for the arts with galleries, visitor center, and studio artists, as well as programs such as A.R.T. for Life, Summer Art Camps, Artist Residency programs, and Artist Connect. The services and opportunities provided to the public, artists, and affiliated nonprofit arts organizations are abounding.

An all-volunteer board of directors governs The Arts Center. Daily operations are managed by a small but dedicated staff, with assistance from interns, volunteers, and a team of contracted artists, all with a passion for the arts, culture, and nonprofit arts management. Our department is always looking for unconventional ways that we can assist youth who have made bad decisions to develop into productive citizens. The Juvenile Services Department is happy that The Arts Center has taken an interest in our youth. It is a wonderful, rewarding partnership. We hope to continue these programs and give more youth the opportunity to participate. We have had over 171 juveniles to participate in these programs and only approximately 15% of the youth have been referred to this department for new referrals.
