The mission of the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACBVI) is to enhance the quality of life of people who are blind or otherwise visually impaired, by providing a wide range of services including assistive technology, orientation and mobility training, rehabilitation teaching social recreation and social work. These services promote independence, dignity, and full participation in all spheres of life, including at home, at work and in the community.

Founded in 1947, Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACBVI) has been serving the blind and visually impaired community for over 70 years.

While providing a broad range of traditional rehabilitation skills training and social programs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, ACBVI is the leader in assistive technology training, including mobile technologies, for those with multiple challenges. ACBVI sets the standard for new and innovative services. Last year ACBVI launched a program to serve individuals who are deaf/blind or have combined vision and hearing loss (CVHL). This is the first comprehensive program of its kind in the country that is offered in a non-residential community-based setting. ACBVI also trains blind and visually impaired individuals for IT desktop support certification, resulting in real jobs for real people. And there's more. ACBVI serves both older and younger adults, including veterans, as well as youth who need education assistance in addition to serving as a consultant to the National Institutes of Health in research on new technologies for blind and visually impaired. ACBVI also creates once-in-a-lifetime experiences that help their clients increase their confidence, gain independence, and experience joy through field trips where they most recently visited Snowbowl for ski lessons with an adaptive sports group.
