Adult Literacy Plus of Southwest Arizona (ALPS) has been serving Yuma County, and the surrounding areas, since 1981. Formerly known as the Yuma Reading Council, the organization has steadily grown to be the largest Title II service provider for Adult Education in Southwest Arizona. ALPS is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) Federal tax-exempt organization, whose purpose is to provide adult learners with both educational and occupational opportunities that will assist them in achieving their individual goals, strengthen their family, and provide them the opportunity to give back to the community. The organization remains steadfast in its mission statement of, "providing quality, rigorous education to adult learners which enriches lives and furthers success in workforce preparation, gainful employment, and postsecondary educational opportunities".
