Algiers Point Lil Free Pantry

A nonprofit organization

24/7. A free pantry box. Take what you need, Leave what you can! To provide nutritious food, free of charge, to low-income or no-income residents of Algiers.

The Algiers Point Free Lil Pantry (Free Lil Pantry) was started in February 2017 to feed residents who otherwise cannot afford nutritious food.
The Free Lil Pantry is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has no barriers to access. All someone has to do is walk up to the pantry, lift the easy-to-open door and take out what they need. Algiers residents rely on the Free Lil Pantry for fresh produce, fresh groceries, non-perishable items, and other everyday needs. Without the Free Lil Pantry, low-income and no-income residents, including many elderly and working mothers/families, in Algiers would not have food every day. For the 27% of Algiers residents living in poverty (740 adults and children ), There s no other food pantry in Algiers or on the West Bank that provides free food 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We receive no money for government. All we survive on is donations of food and money from neighbors. A true New Orleans helping New Orleans pantry!

Testimonials

This little bitty box that has no locks, no restrictions, and you can come any time of the night... I thank God for that. - Benjamin
