Altrusa International of Southwest Dallas County Foundation

We are adding a new project to our Literacy Program to help children get back into reading and improve learning and skills impacted by the COVID Pandemic when schools were closed. The new project is a Literacy challenge to encourage kids to read more and hopefully develop a love of reading. The program will be administered through participating schools, and intended as extra tool to also help teachers get kids back up to par.

Our Needs

We need to recruit more members to help reach a greater number of people. We need funds because our club is completely dependent upon donations, fundraisers, grants and sponsorships to make projects successful. We are here to help with community needs, no matter how big or small, or what they entail. Without funds, we are handicapped as to what and how much we can do. As all funds go directly into the communities we serve, we cannot meet the needs of our communities without help. We service thirteen communities in Southwest Dallas County, with a membership of 30 people. We strive hard to make things happen.
