We are raising $80,000 to sustain breakfast, shower, and laundry services while preparing the new Day Center to open with heat and bathrooms before winter.
A hot breakfast, a warm shower, clean clothing, and a safe place to sit — these are simple things. But when life is heavy, they are life-changing.
Stability takes time — and no one rebuilds alone.
Guests meet with case managers and partners to take practical steps forward, including:
Eviction prevention
Housing applications
Documentation and ID recovery
Employment readiness and job search support
Healthcare and recovery access
Visiting partners also provide:
Mobile medical care
Counseling
Recovery support
Spiritual care (as desired)
For five years in a row, Lancaster has chosen Anchor as its #1 nonprofit — because this work leads to real, measurable progress.
When someone has a place to land, they have a place to begin again.
The need for safe daytime refuge is growing — and winter is approaching.
Our expanded Day Center on East King Street will welcome more neighbors indoors, but right now, it is a bare concrete shell:
No heat
No bathrooms
No safe indoor space yet
Donate
To open before temperatures drop, we must:
Install heating system
Build sanitary bathrooms and handwashing stations
Create case management space
Prepare clean, safe gathering space
Meanwhile, breakfast, showers, and laundry continue at First United Methodist Church — the heart of our mission.
We have the space.
We have the staff.
What we need now is to make it warm, safe, and ready.
🍳 42,000 breakfasts shared
🚿 6,000 warm showers offered
🧺 2,400 loads of laundry washed
🧦 6,000 pairs of socks distributed
🧑🤝🧑 180–200 neighbors welcomed daily
🏠 30+ evictions prevented
👋 200+ volunteers serving each month
These are not numbers.
They are lives becoming steadier, stronger, and more hopeful.
Your Gift Has Direct Impact
Your gift brings warmth to the body, stability to the day, and hope to the future.
Anchor Lancaster is where faith becomes action and where the love of God is made visible through consistent, practical care.
We believe every person is created in the image of God — worthy of dignity, safety, and the chance to rebuild.
Our approach combines compassion + structure, helping guests move toward stability through:
Housing pathways
Employment readiness
Documentation and benefits access
Daily routines that rebuild confidence
This is Christlike love expressed through consistency, partnership, and hope.
And it is your generosity that makes this work possible.
Together, we are making sure no one is left in the cold this winter.
