The Andover Community Hub is in its ninth year as a non-profit community resource, and with its newly-renovated building and a new kitchen, The Hub is well on its way to meeting its goal of returning Andover's 1879 town hall to its original function as a gathering place for the entire community.
With a dedicated group of volunteers, The Hub continues to provide programs for the young, the old, and the in-between, ranging from a weekly parent-child playgroup to monthly senior lunches and community potluck suppers to informal opportunities for fun and socializing like crafts groups, mah jongg, the twice-weekly Card Sharps, a recent Hawaiian-themed "Let's Cook Culinary Adventure" and a board game club.
Speakers on timely topics such as "What's Artifical Intelligence (AI) All About Anyway," monthly live music events, and helpful workshops on retirement planning or healthy eating entertain and educate residents; yoga, tai chi, Bone Builders and winter walking in the Proctor Academy gym help keep area residents healthy and fit; the projects of the Andover Garden Club inspire local gardeners; and monthly "Market Days @ The Hub" offer local vendors a way to reach local customers. Services such as free assistance with filing income taxes and monthly Senior Health Clinics provide individual one-on-one help when needed.
The Hub welcomes the involvement of anyone interested in helping to provide the opportunities and services you'd like to see available in town, for yourself and for your neighbors. We welcome your ideas, your donations of time and effort -- and your financial support!
If you've learned something new from a speaker you heard at The Hub, benefited from a workshop you attended or just enjoyed a chance to chat over a cup of coffee and a game of cards, we hope you'll consider making a donation through NH Gives to help The Hub keep going and growing!
