The Mission of the Slidell Animal Assistance League of Slidell, a volunteer non-profit organization, was founded to support the City of Slidell Animal Control Shelter and Citizens by: Providing all food, medicine, medical care, and comfort items for the sheltered animals. Socialization of animals to prepare them for adoption through handling, exercise, and play. Conduct pet adoption or placement of animals in service organizations. Educate the public on the healthcare of animals.

The Animal Assistance League of Slidell was founded in 1983 to help the City of Slidell Animal Control Shelter. This shelter provides all the food, medical care, comfort and support items, and medicine for animals held at the Slidell Animal Control Shelter. Taxpayer dollars are normally not used for such items. AAL provides these items.
