Arch O Young Adults

My desire to begin this apostolate came from my own experience after college. I attended UNL and was actively involved in the Newman Center and Phi Kappa Theta. After I graduated, I became lukewarm in my faith because of the loss of my Catholic community, new challenges of full time work, getting married, having kids, and the difficulty of finding my place in a parish. If it was not for my wife Katie, I could have easily walked away or just done the "bare minimum" for the rest of my life. It took me over 5 years and consistent prodding from Katie to grow deeper in my relationship with Christ and to actively seek out a community.

We don’t ever want someone to leave the faith simply because they couldn’t find a community. We have amazing Newman Centers and FOCUS missionaries on college campuses around Nebraska that are helping college students to encounter Jesus. We want to help bridge the gap that exists from those thriving communities into parishes in our Archdiocese. Just like the mission of the archdiocese, we want to give every young adult the opportunity to live as one church, encounter Jesus, be equipped as disciples, and live mercy.

We are grateful and inspired by the fact that the Holy Spirit has abundantly blessed the work of our volunteers so far. But if we want continue our work, we need your support.
