Artpace San Antonio

A nonprofit organization

Who We Are

Artpace San Antonio is a nonprofit residency program that supports regional, national, and international artists in the creation of new art. As a catalyst for artistic expression, we engage local communities with global art practices and experiences.

Artpace was founded in 1995 by artist, collector, and philanthropist Linda Pace (1945-2007). Linda conceived of Artpace as a laboratory of dreams, providing artists from all over the world with an environment that encourages experimentation and growth.

After 25 years, Artpace has achieved Linda's vision by becoming an institution recognized around the world for advancing contemporary art through unparalleled support of artists and groundbreaking exhibitions right here in San Antonio.

Since its inception, we have welcomed over 280 regional, national, and international artists and curators to our world-renowned International Artist-in-Residence program. Through year-round exhibitions and public programming, Artpace annually engages more than 37,000 people with global art practices and experiences - seven days a week, free of charge.
