Area Substance & Alcohol Abuse Prevention (ASAAP)

Preventing the abuse of alcohol and other substances through education and information. We are an upstream agency working to engage our community and reduce the risk for substance abuse by providing safe spaces, authentic leadership, valuable information and consistent supports. Strategies include: providing trained & certified staff with evidence based curriculums to schools free of charge, developing positive norms campaigns, and providing resources to the recovery community.

We provide a variety of evidence-based programs for those from ages 6-22 as well as support, materials, and resources for those in formal recovery programs. Our services are all FREE, confidential, and accessible to anyone in our area!
Year round drug take back services- ASAAP provides DeTerra packages and information on proper disposal of medications, including why it is essential to not flush medication into the water systems or throw medications away in the trash to terminate at the landfill. We also provide lock boxes to keep medication secure.
Red Ribbon Week serves elementary schools, supplying students with educational materials and presentations.
Opioid Reduction Program- Year round take backs, education for students and senior citizens.
Lending Library- Free AA/NA materials to borrow with topics ranging from youth seeing parental drug & alcohol abuse, grandparents raising grandchildren, and the sandwich generation.
