Associates of St. John Bosco, Inc

NOTE:  A College Night workshop will be presented on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church's Lyceum, located at 313 Duke Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  The workshop is free to students attending.  Each students will receive FREE OF CHARGE a set of books helpful in transitioning to college valued at $50.

The Associates of St. John Bosco, Inc. was created in 2011 to assist Roman Catholic students during their college years.  The following services are provided free of charge to students:

Educational Workshops – These workshops provide recent high school graduates with information and assistance needed to ensure that they make a successful transition from high school to college.  The primary focus is on the spiritual or religious transition during which the routine of religious activities within their homes carries over to religious participation within their new college community.  Workshops provide students with reading material, religious articles, practical advice and contacts with ministries and people on campus who are active in the Roman Catholic community. 

Scholarships – Scholarships are targeted to students pursuing academic programs and careers that serve the Roman Catholic community.  Scholarships are primarily available to college and high school students.  Students pursuing graduate programs may be considered, especially if their program leads to placement within religious communities, Catholic health institutions, or Catholic schools.  The first scholarship of $1000.00 was awarded to a student beginning college in academic year 2016-17.  Applications for a scholarship for academic year 2018-19 are currently being accepted at our web site -- www.asjb.org

 Assistance to Roman Catholic Educational Organizations –Financial and organizational services are provided to Roman Catholic ministries and groups in support of their educational and outreach ministries.  This support supplements regular college ministries by sponsoring specific religious-oriented events or programs for the college community, e.g., assisting the Chaplain at the University of Mary Washington with a welcoming event for new students.

The Associates of St. John Bosco, Inc is an all-volunteer organization.  Thus all donations go directly to the work of its ministries.
