Autism Society Northeastern Pennsylvania

A nonprofit organization

The Autism Society Northeastern Pennsylvania originated in a grass roots collaborative effort of a group of service providers and higher education institutions trying to identify and meet the lifespan needs of people with Autism living in Northeastern PA. The Autism Society of Northeastern PA will work as an affiliate of the Autism Society of America as we create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community to access the resources they need to live fully as self-actualized community members. We look forward to sharing information and resources within our geographic region including Bradford, Carbon, Clinton, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.

We are fundraising to expand our Tabletop Role-Playing Groups program to be able to start additional groups for teens and adults throughout NEPA.

The Open Quest Project

Different Minds, Shared Adventures

The Open Quest Project is a therapeutic tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) program where autistic and neurodiverse teens and adults team up to explore imaginative worlds, solve challenges, and create stories together. Using games like Dungeons & Dragons, participants step into the roles of unique characters and navigate adventures that reflect both fantasy and real-life situations.  Led by trained Game Masters who understand the needs and strengths of neurodivergent players, The Open Quest Project offers a fun, low-pressure environment to build confidence, social skills, and self-expression—while enjoying the power of play.
