Our permanent exhibit is "Bayou Excursion: 1910" an imaginary trip along picturesque Bayou Lafourche at the beginning of the 20th century. View a collection of scenes that tell the story of Lafourche and its people. A composite view of Bayou Lafourche's history unfolds on the screen of an old-time panorama, activated by the turn of the ship's wheel. Other exhibits showcase a collection of ducks carved and painted by Wade LeBlanc of Lockport and Mardi Gras. Our bookstore sells several books published by the Lafourche Heritage Society--Lafourche Country, Lafourche Country II, Lafourche Country III, and Stories My Grandparents Told Me. We also sell books that the museum has published--The Story of Lockport, Louisiana, Volumn II by Jeffrey LeBlanc, A Picture History of Lockport 1835-1935 edited by Marjorie Barker and Edith Folse, Images of America, Lafourche Parish edited by Clifton Theriot, and Beirut on the Bayou-Alfred Nicola, Louisiana and the Making of Modern Lebanon by Raif Shwayri. Come by on a Tuesday or Thursday for a look at life along Bayou Lafourche.
