Brazos Civic Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

Brazos Civic Orchestra (BCO) is a community orchestra made up of musicians who have a passion for music, who enjoy making music together and the good company of other members, and who wish to share excellent music with our local community. We feel our lives and those our audiences are enhanced by being involved in the orchestra as the BCO provides a much-needed source of symphonic music in the Bryan/College Station area.

The BCO was formed by a violinist and a conductor. Wolfgang Verdegaal and Joe Daigle discovered that they had a similar vision for an orchestra that would create a welcoming space for area musicians to make quality music together. It quickly and organically grew from a handful of interested friends to a full orchestra in a few months, and in the Fall of 2017 the BCO's first concert was performed within one year of its founding.

The BCO presents a free, public concert twice a year and is always open to new members to join and volunteers to help the organization. We are a recognized, non-profit status organization.

The people are welcoming, the music selections are a good mix of challenging and fun, and the overall atmosphere is a positive, encouraging one. Always a highlight of my week!" - Amy Persyn, Member of the Ensemble

"The BCO is such an amazing group, full of really fantastic musicians who want to share the gift of music. Thursday rehearsal is truly the best day of my week. It is evident the community enjoys our music as well; the concerts are always packed!" - Lauren Dorsett, Member of the Ensemble
