.... someone took the time to speak love into the lives of the prisoners and their families, through education and discipleship? 

 

....someone invested in their lives to make sure they knew they have a purpose and are valued? 

 

... brothers and sisters in Christ circled the incarcerated and their families with the love of Jesus, that they may receive Him? 

 

... because of the time we spend in communities, educating and disciplining families, communities became safer, families were restored, and spiritual revival happened?  

 

We want to help anyone who needs it. We have worked with families in Kern County that have been incarcerated, in programs, or on the streets. It is our goal to assist them to a better quality of life. We work with the entire family to break the cycle of destruction. Through parenting classes,life skill classes, abuse and domestic violence classes, job training and counseling these families are learning how life should be lived, how to communicate and teaching their children a different lifestyle out of crime. We are helping these families and the community

Our program is effective because we use the following unique features:

• Treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
• Interventions where parents and their children learn similar knowledge and skills for improving their quality of life.
• Assessment strategies to allow facilitators and parents to chart the course of their success.
• Families can attend group or individual session.
• Flexibility within the structure of the programs allows facilitators to meet the specific needs of families.
• The nurturing philosophy of non-violent parenting focuses on the development of empathy, self-worth, self-awareness, empowerment, disciple with dignity, appropriate family roles and age-appropriate expectations of children’s development.
• Lesson guides and parent handbooks with individual lessons designed to promote individual and family growth.
• Parents and children learn how to have fun as a family.

 

The Parenting Program shows women what their addictions or poor life choices can do to a child, the importance of their role in a child’s life; abuse training; how to identify healthy and unhealthy relationships, drug and alcohol addictions; the effects on their bodies and their relationships; how to deal with children who are following in their parents’ paths and what they can do to help their children have successful lives.
