Be Theatre

Be Theatre provides an enriching environment of entertainment and education that develops the artist and patrons in mind and spirit. The primary focus of education is the process rather than the product. Through the process of theatre arts, valuable life lessons are learned such as tolerance, communication, problem-solving skills, cooperation, respect for one's self and others, humility, and compassion.

When it's not done right, theatre is a mindless escape only for the upper class. It provides a chance to laugh but never makes you think. And only those with the right amount of time or money can participate. When it's done wrong, theatre exists in a community but is never part of the community. At Be Theatre, we are committed to theatre done right.

Our small-space encourages us to perform art that touches the soul and makes us think. We encourage everyone from all walks of life to participate, and we offer different events that can fit into even the busiest of schedules (24-hour theater, anyone?). We also believe that a theatre is more than a place for people to go…it's a place for community to grow.
That's why we partner with organizations like CVCAA, the Family Shelter, and Open Arms Rape Crisis Center. Our Literature Alive program melds theatre with books to encourage children to develop a love of both. Our improv team has raised over $18,000 since 2018 to help Zach Sutterfield, a San Marcos fire survivor.
