The BlackBox Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit theatre company that was founded in 2012. We produce local theatre and cultural events with and for the members of our rural community. Some of our programs, groups, and artists include: BlackBox Youth Theatre, New Terminus Players, Battle Moose Improv, Kids Club Improv, the Unmanageables, Teen Improv Troupe, and Wildman Phil. In 2016, we produced 13 shows that included over 100 kids, teens, college kids, and adults. We created and manage the Victor Hammond Scholarship fund, which offers scholarships to low-income families so their kids can do theatre. This spring, we have 15 kids who are under scholarship participating in our programs. We are members of the Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce, the American Association of Community Theatre, the American Alliance for Theatre Education, the Arizona Citizens for the Arts, and the Arizona Alliance of Nonprofits. In 2016, our organization won the Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the year award, and our Executive Director was nominated for a local "Bravo for the Arts" award. In 2017, we are currently nominated for a Governor's Arts Award, and our Education Director has been named one of the 12 young "Voices of the Future" for Casa Grande. We recently received grants from the Gila River Indian Community and the Pinal 40 Group, as well as numerous individual donations as well.
