OUR HISTORY AND MISSION The Lighthouse Ranch was founded in March 1979 by Jim and Lovella Yohe. It is located on a beautiful 40-acre site in Southeast Louisiana. Over one thousand boys have lived at the Ranch and have benefited from its program. Lighthouse Ranch for Boys is a Louisiana licensed, Class A child residential facility located in Loranger, LA. The program is designed for boys (12 through 17 years of age) who are in need of a stable environment.

The Lighthouse Ranch for Boys has worked with hundreds of at-risk youth since 1979. The Ranch is a Class "A" Residential Facility licensed to work with at-risk young men from the ages of 12-17.

Our residential facilities are based on the family living model, where young men live with others facing similar challenges, along with a set of Resident Supervisors. This environment at our boys home for troubled kids helps these young men come to terms with their situation and make internal changes that will last a lifetime.

Jeff's Story

After my parents were killed in a tragic car wreck, I became a resident at the
Lighthouse Ranch for Boys and lived there from age 13-16. What I experienced in my
life at the Ranch was life-changing and has impacted my life in a great way. The leaders
left a great impression on me. We maintained a disciplined lifestyle and we were taught
responsibility by our different daily activities at the Ranch. I was responsible to take care
of animals at the Ranch including rabbits, cows, and
