Brass City Ballet

2025-2026 has been a transition year for Brass City Ballet.  Can you help carry us into our next era?  Please support us if you can.

BCB’s mission is to bring the art, technique, and joy of dance through its school, performing company, and community outreach.

Within the scope of this mission, our Artistic Director, Julio Alegria, is aiming to advance his vision of creating a safe environment where young dancers can explore the expression of creative ideas and movement—supported by encouragement, inclusivity, and diversity of style and technique.

BCB needs your financial support to help with:

•
Prioritizing on-stage performance for our young dancers

  •
The Nutcracker—creating a community-wide performance to celebrate our young dancers and the season’s festivities

  • Recitals held throughout the year to showcase ALL of our young dancers of varied ages and levels

•
  Aligning our curriculum to emphasize

  • Technique and safe bodies

  • Auditions for summer intensives and professional dance careers

  • Auditions for college dance programs

• Building a new dynamic and interactive website and mobile app for students, parents, and families

At BCB, we do more than teach dance steps.  Our SCHOOL provides a foundation of discipline, confidence, and perseverance—qualities that stay with our students decades after they leave our studio.  Ask any of our graduates, and they'll tell you that whether they became dancers, lawyers, educators, or entrepreneurs, the lessons they learned here extended far beyond the studio and stage.

“Here I formed the foundation of my dance technique, explored the creative process, learned to receive and implement constructive criticism, watched/listened/absorbed the wisdom of those who came before me, built lifelong friendships…” — Eleanor Barisser, BCB Alumna ‘08

Also as a PERFORMING COMPANY, we bring the magic of dance to audiences across the region.  Our annual Nutcracker has become a cherished tradition, and our year-round performances blend classical artistry with bold, original works.

“I would like to thank you for inviting me to teach a Master Class at your school.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Your students are so disciplined, talented, professional! It was a real joy teaching them!”

— Tatiana Linnik, Former Soloist at the Kirov Ballet Company & Graduate of the Vaganova Ballet Academy

But perhaps our most important stage is beyond the theater.  Through our COMMUNITY OUTREACH, we offer free classes, school partnerships, and scholarships to give children opportunities to find the creative spirit within—because the joy of dance should be available to everyone.

“We…are so grateful for you all and what you do for the kids. :)” Lindsey Rizzo, BCB Parent

Who We Are

Help us reach new heights!

Brass City Ballet has always been a family – a community of parents, teachers, volunteers, and dancers who give their creative efforts to the beauty, tradition and discipline of dance. We’ve been a non profit 501 (c) (3) since 1989, with our programs providing a supportive environment where children:

*explore creatively
*take on leadership roles
*value responsibility, discipline, and teamwork
*aspire to do their best

You can help us! Tuition and ticket sales make up only a portion of the funds required to keep these quality programs alive.

By making a donation, you are joining our circle of donors who make a difference!
