Bridge Street Development Corp

Founded in 1995, Bridge Street Development Corporation ("Bridge Street") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide civic and economic opportunities to the residents and small businesses of Central Brooklyn, with an emphasis on low-to-moderate income individuals and families. Over the years, Bridge Street has continuously worked to improve the quality of life in Bedford-Stuyvesant and several adjacent communities in Central Brooklyn by building partnerships with businesses, government, civic groups, faith-based organizations and other important stakeholders. 

Our motto, “Building on Community Strength,” describes our core belief that the most effective way to improve a community is to develop and promote local assets, including people, homes, businesses, and organizations. Through our holistic approach to community development, Bridge Street continues to have a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of countless Central Brooklyn residents.

• Empowering
   1,300+ young adults annually through workforce and civic programs
• Assisting
   1,500+ seniors and families with housing and community services
• Developing
   600+ units of affordable housing and renovating 80+ homes for
   homeownership
• Supporting
   300+ small businesses with technical and financial guidance
• Hosting
   100+ community events each year, building neighborhood engagement and
   vitality
