This November, more than 42 million Americans affected by the ongoing government shutdown are facing disruptions in their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps) benefits for part of the month. As a result, hunger in communities across the country is anticipated to rise.

Each week, Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center (BRMUHC) welcomes new families who struggle to provide food for their loved ones due to recent budget cuts. Your support is essential for BRMUHC as we continue to supply much-needed groceries, including meat, cheese, eggs, fruit, and milk, to families in Brooklyn. Your contributions enable us to provide food assistance to families at risk of hunger. Who We Are

Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center has been serving the Brooklyn community since 2003.

Our focus since then has been to help individuals and families fight and defeat poverty and hunger. For the last 15 years, BRMUHC has fed hundreds of thousands of meals annually to hungry Brooklynites fighting daily food insecurity.

An estimated 1.4 million New York City residents rely on emergency food programs including soup kitchens and food pantries.
