Brooklyn Soccer Foundation (BSF) was established for one main purpose - to eliminate barriers and promote access to world-class youth soccer experiences in the great borough of Brooklyn. Too frequently, due to the pay-to-play nature of youth sports in America, the costs of simply joining a soccer program can be prohibitive to many families. BSF believes that money should never be the reason why a child cannot participate in the world's most popular sport.
This is why BSF has already granted over $200,000 in scholarships to youth players across Brooklyn, and will continue to provide support to families in need of financial assistance in order to realize their child's dreams of playing high level soccer. These scholarships allow families and players access to the the best athletic facilities in Brooklyn, the best instruction from the borough's top coaches, and the ability to play in top level competitions that can lead to recognition, college scholarships, etc., which can set individuals on a course to success well beyond their youth.
BSF also supports grassroots-level programs. There are many valuable life lessons to be learned through youth sports and participating in a team. Without access and support at the earliest stages of a child's interest in soccer, the likelihood of encountering these positive, character building experiences dwindles. This is why we strive to support access to the beautiful game across all stages of youth soccer, from kids having their first experience kicking a ball at age 2, to ambitious high school students aiming for college scholarships and beyond.
