Bunker Projects

A nonprofit organization

Bunker Projects is an artist-run non-profit artist residency and experimental gallery, located at 5106 Penn Ave, that serves as a platform for emerging artists to develop their practice and create new works for exhibition. By providing an immersive live/work space alongside intimate cultural programming, we foster a spirit of innovative support, connecting artists with Pittsburgh's active and growing arts community. We encourage you to read "More About Us" below.

The two floor live-work-show space has two apartments, two studios, and two gallery rooms. The space was reclaimed from fire and abandon in 2012 by founders Jessie Rommelt, Cecilia Ebitz, Abagail Beddall, and the community.

We offer 3-4 month live/work residencies for local and visiting artists devoted to supporting self-directed art making and monthly exhibitions by resident artists and guest exhibitors open every first Fridays of the month as part of Unblurred. We have a number of recurring programs for the community including artist talks, dinners, and workshops compliment current residents and exhibitions.

Bunker Projects puts on an annual Performance Art Festival and Night of Erotica.

Bunker is a hub for the arts in the region and has had 100% occupancy of the residency since inception as well as and an exhibition of new works every single month. The volunteer team at Bunker Projects is always looking for new opportunities to fulfill our mission and bring interesting programming to the Pittsburgh community. Your contribution will significantly enhance our ability to do what we love.

Please see our website at bunkerprojects.org for more information about our programming, residents, and past events.
