A nonprofit organization

The Butler Area Public Library will provide a balanced collection of books and other materials which will serve and enhance the informational, educational and cultural needs of the greater Butler community, thereby creating possibilities for individual and community growth and development. The library will achieve these goals by embracing change, by working together with the public, by maintaining the highest standards and by cultivating opportunities which can advance the library's mission.
