$5,000 Goal

Caddo Lake Institute proudly works with local communities, organizations, scientists and government environmental programs to conserve and protect the unique treasure that is Caddo Lake. Together we are returning healthy flows of water to Caddo Lake, and restoring water quality in the local watershed.

Our environmental flows project has lead us to team up with the US Army Corp of Engineers to assure adequate in-stream flows to sustain not only the ecological, recreational and economic values of Caddo Lake, but the larger Cypress Basin.

Because of our flows program we are now reintroducing the native prehistoric Paddlefish back into Caddo Lake. We partnered with the Shreveport Aquarium to make these unique fish available to all those who visit the Aquarium. We also partnered with SciPort on an exhibit showcasing local birds. We hope to continue to find ways to enhance tourism and educational offerings. Our natural resources can be a great source of diversifying economic development

Caddo Lake Institute is dedicated in helping safe guard Caddo Lake, it's wetlands and surrounding watershed. Caddo Lake sustains countless unique wildlife habitats, several endangered species, as well as encourages outdoor recreation activities.
We hope you will join us in SAVING THE LAKE!
