Mission

Equal civil justice for low-income people.

Description

Legal aid is a lifeline in a time of crisis:
The Legal Foundation of Washington's Campaign for Equal Justice supports low-income families by funding critically-needed, free civil legal services.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, legal needs related to unemployment, eviction, domestic violence, and immigration have increased dramatically. With more people falling into poverty, legal aid providers are needed more than ever.

Legal aid is a vital part of our state's front-line COVID-19 response and the programs we fund have adapted to provide urgent services and advocacy. Skyrocketing unemployment and denials of benefits, housing insecurity, disputes over medical and consumer debt, and many other issues caused by the pandemic can only be resolved through the civil justice system.

We need your support now more than ever:
Before the pandemic, just a quarter of low-income people in our state could access the civil legal help they needed. Now, with so many more people in need, we must redouble our commitment to justice for all.

Please donate.

Last year, we helped 20,000 families access legal assistance and stay healthy, safe, and housed. With your help we can reach more people in need.

Thank you for joining our movement for justice for all!
