The Camp Rainbow Foundation is proud to provide unique camping experiences to children, teens and their families that have had or are currently dealing with cancer or other blood-related disorders. Since we began in 1988, the Camp Rainbow Foundation has proudly served over 11,270 children through at least one of our seven camping programs. Until there is a cure, Camp Rainbow will continue to provide free camping experiences to children undergoing treatment for, and survivors of, cancer and other blood-related diseases.
We offer seven different experiences for children:
TEEN CAMP is a unique weekend long overnight experience for high school teens facing cancer or blood-related disorders. Held each spring, we focus on communication, relationships and self-esteem building exercises.
OVERNIGHT ONCOLOGY CAMP is a one week overnight camp for children ages 6 to 13 years of age who have had or are currently dealing with cancer or other blood-related disorders.
DAY CAMP is an additional one week daily camp that takes place during the same week as Overnight Oncology Camp. Specifically designed for our younger campers, we tailor the experiences for those children who are ages 4, 5 and 6 years from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
SIBS CAMP is a one week overnight camp for children ages 7 to 14 who have had or are currently dealing with a sibling's diagnosis of cancer or other blood-related disorders.
FAMILY CAMP is a place for our campers and their families to have fun in a safe environment. Held annually at Trout Lodge over Labor Day weekend the camp provides the whole family with an opportunity to bond, share and have fun.
TNT - our Teens N Twenty program provides social opportunities for our teen campers to remain connected throughout the year specifically for our 14 to 20 year olds.
CAMP-IN is an inpatient activity, aimed at providing a camp experience for children who are inpatient at the three area treatment centers - St. Louis Children's Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center.
By offering several opportunities for campers throughout the year, we are able to provide opportunities for an average of 1,200 children per year. To date, we have hosted over 11,270 campers!
