It is our mission to serve and promote the well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community and persons at risk and/or affected by HIV through education, support services, quality housing, and advocacy.

We serve the Portage and Summit County communities in Northeast, Ohio.

We recognize housing as a human right and work every day to reduce homelessness in our community. CANAPI operates multiple housing programs that serve LGBTQ+ young people and people living with HIV who are experiencing homelessness and housing instability. We provide case management and other supportive services to all of our housing program participants to ensure that they have access to the needed care and services to live authentic and fulfilling lives.

CANAPI's vision is to empower an inclusive community through education, awareness, and outreach while eliminating stigma and HIV transmission. To be in line with our vision and mission, in addition to housing, we provide free and confidential HIV screenings and a bi-weekly food pantry for people living with HIV and are in poverty.

We strive to be a source of connection for the LGBTQ+ community of Greater Akron, Ohio which is why we are also the fiscal sponsor of Akron Pride Festival.
