Mission Statement: Empowering individuals and families impacted by cancer through education and support services. Vision Statement: No one should face cancer alone.

The mission at Michelle's Place is to
empower individuals and their families
impacted by cancer through education
and support services. Michelle's Place
adapts to client needs, adjusting
classes and programs to offer services
needed most. The need for advocacy
and navigating the health care industry
has grown in recent years.
The client Care Team at Michelle's Place
is made up of bilingual staff and includes:
patient navigators, a community health
worker, behavioral health professionals,
encouragement callers, and program
facilitators. All members of the care
team work diligently each day to assist
clients through the process- whether it
be a listening ear, financial assistance,
building community, or tangible
comfort items.
Michelle's Place actively participates
in the community, sharing educational
information and materials at health
fairs and community events. Cancer
screenings and early detection are vital
to health and wellness and are proven
to increase survival rate of those
diagnosed with cancer.
Educational seminars are offered each
month at Michelle's Place at no cost,
led by content experts and open to
community attendance. Topics are
often suggested by current clients and
vary in subject matter from nutrition
and healthy habits to financial wellness
and estate planning.
All services and programs at Michelle's
Place are free to all clients, including
comfort items such as wigs, prosthetics,
clothing, etc.
A cancer diagnosis often includes
financial strain with potential for job loss
or leave of absence, cost of treatment,
physical limitations, and much more.
Temporary financial assistance is
available through Michelle's Place
Purple Ribbon Assistance program and
offers grocery gift cards, transportation
assistance, backpacks and school
supplies, a Thanksgiving meal, and a
holiday celebration with gifts for each
child.
23 different programs are available
more than 50 times each month and
include: support groups, wellness
programs like yoga and Tai Chi, and
classes that build community among
fighters, survivors, and thrivers like
art therapy and crafting. Programs are
updated regularly on the website at
