For 40 years, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the River Region has provided direct advocacy services to children (from birth to 18 years of age) with active abuse and neglect cases in family court. CASA trains residents in Jefferson, Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, Trimble, Shelby, and Spencer Counties to fight for the best interests of vulnerable children.

CASA’s vision is to pair an advocate with every abused/neglected child who needs one. CASA trains community volunteers to recognize and understand children’s educational, social-emotional, and physical needs. When CASA advocates are paired with vulnerable children, they use their training to ensure children’s unique needs are met. Children with a CASA receive more court-ordered services, spend less time in out-of-home care & are more likely to succeed in school.
