Central Louisville Community Ministries (CLCM) is proud to continue to serve those in need in the downtown Louisville area for more than 50 years.  Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we leaned in to help as our neighbors struggled, keeping thousands from being evicted or having utilities disconnected, and providing for other basic needs like food and supplies.  Now the federal funding has been expended, and we are seeing another surge in need related to the remaining effects of the pandemic coupled with high prices at the grocery store, the pump, and on utility bills. Food pantry use is surging even higher than during the peak of Covid, a good indication that our neighbors are not able to meet basic needs.  CLCM is here to listen and assist by connecting online, on the phone, at the food pantry, in the clothes closet, or on our front porch, walking folks through applications, and providing much-needed assistance with past-due utilities bills and rent, food and personal care items.  Your donation makes it possible for us to fill the funding gaps, provide knowledgeable staff to guide clients, help stock the food pantry, keep our clothes closet open, provide refurbished bikes from Pedal Power, and offer items like toilet paper, shampoo, and cleaning supplies not covered by SNAP benefits.

CLCM's service area includes the parts of 40202, 40203, and 40208 that are bordered by: the Ohio River on the north; Shelby, Meriwether, and I-65 on the east; Eastern Parkway and the railroad tracks from Eastern Parkway to Ninth Street on the south; and Ninth Street on the west.  Our food pantry and clothes closet are open to all, regardless of where they live.
