The Children’s Law Center of New Hampshire is a legal services 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to improve outcomes for at-risk children by addressing their legal, educational, and social services needs. We are the only New Hampshire nonprofit dedicated exclusively to the legal rights of children.

Because our clients are typically children who are growing up in poverty, who are entangled in more than one area of the State's child welfare system, who have experienced significant childhood trauma, and who have mental health and special education disabilities, our model of legal representation is interdisciplinary. This means we can resolve the multiple legal challenges children face in abuse and neglect, delinquency, children in need of services (CHINS), and school matters--and other types of legal challenges that frequently arise in our clients' cases, like guardianship.

We are dedicated to the principle that all children are worthy of fulfilling, satisfying childhoods in stable, supportive family and school settings that prepare them for productive, happy lives as adults

We focus on our child clients’ strengths. We understand neurodiversity and the science of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and we advocate for the instruction, services, supports, and protective childhood experiences that children are entitled to receive from their schools, the courts, and State providers.

To maximize its impact, the Children’s Law Center also presses for systemic reform through legislative advocacy, education, and training.

Thank you for supporting the Children’s Law Center of New Hampshire!
