The primary emphasis of Childreniños is to provide quality educational and certification opportunities to Early Childhood educators in Central Texas and the Brazos Valley. One of the most important training opportunities that the organization provides is for the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential program. This certification training is available in both English and Spanish. Childcare educators hone their skills and secure training that is both beneficial to the young students within their care and their own personal advancement in this career field. Training in all competency areas for required CEU's is available to all area educators and directors. Childreniños is a valuable source of providing certification and training for aspiring Trainers. These individuals then become part of the training network and growth, both personally and professionally. Childreniños impacts the opportunities in early childhood education by equipping the trainer, the director, and the educator, all who are able to create and implement quality educational programs for our youngest students.
Additionally, Childreniños has enjoyed a twelve-year affiliation with Touchpoints and has been instrumental in implementing its practices in the Brazos Valley. Touchpoints is an international organization founded by Dr. T. Berry Brazelton and is dedicated to the belief that childcare should support families by building safe, supportive relationships, encouraging individual family's strengths, and creating a positive educational and nurturing environment through collaboration with the family, the educational systems and the community.
Childreniños hosts an annual training (Proud of My Culture) that provides a quality educational experience to parents, early Childhood educators and center directors, and others in the childcare industry. Each year, the focus of the conference deals with critical topics in the childcare industry. Historically, past topics have related to the environment, individual educational needs, positive guidance, the self-controlled child, and conscious discipline. The selected emphasis for the next seminar is health, safety, and diversity.
Greetings,
It is with great pleasure that I share a testimonial in regards to ChildreNinos Bilingual Education. I have had a membership for over 20 years. During "Hurricane Harvey" ChildreNinos partnered with our church "Agape Christian Center" and put together care bags for children including age-appropriate books, toys, and essentials at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. Two trips were made to give not only to our community but to surrounding cities because of ChildreNinos' generosity. ChildreNinos has also partnered with us during our yearly "Clothing & Toy Giveaway" to needy families in Brazos Valley, the week before Christmas. I personally took Preservice Training, Received my CDA "Child Development Associate Credential, TOT, "Trainer Of Trainer" credential, and am registered with the State of Texas to teach early childcare workers. I have also taken the "TouchPoints" Approach to Work with Families, training and will become certified through ChildreNinos. Last year I was part of a team of four under ChildreNinos International that represented the United States of America in Lisbon, Portugal, with 21 other countries during the OMEP European Early Childcare Conference. From that conference, ChildreNinos was invited to present again in Athens, Greece, Russia, and Canada in the future on "Early Childcare in Texas." I have also volunteered with ChildreNinos during the summer for its week-long "InterGenerational Camp '' hosted for children of all cultures in the Brazos Valley. I have attended and presented at the annual "Proud Of My Culture" Conference held to train early childcare workers, of which has participants from all over Texas. I believe ChildreNinos Bilingual Education is to be the recipient of the Brazos Valley Gives...
