Our mission is to preserve the natural, historic and agricultural resources of Fauquier County, and to protect the County's unique quality of life through education and leadership.

More About Us

Founded in 1968, Citizens for Fauquier County ("CFFC") is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with more than 600 members directed by an all volunteer Board of Directors. Our 21 Directors come from diverse backgrounds - including farmers, business owners, a volunteer firefighter, former County Supervisors, Planning Commissioners, Town Council members and County employees, for example, but share a passion for protecting Fauquier's natural beauty and largely rural way of life.

CFFC works throughout Fauquier County to preserve historic villages, farms, open spaces and water sources; to study and document Civil War Battlefields and historic places; to monitor development and contribute to land use decisions; to address transportation problems; to promote agricultural and environmental resources; and to inform and educate the community on these issues and others. Our efforts have been successful because of our members' continued loyalty and shared commitment to being a part of Fauquier's future.
