Civil Righteousness, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Inequity requires a Civil Rights movement, but iniquity requires a Civil Righteousness movement. We believe that the root cause of man's inhumanity to man lies within the heart; therefore we must pursue the transformation of hearts in order to realize reformation in society. Based in Ferguson, we are a local organization leading a national movement with global vision. We specialize in providing theological tools and practical opportunities for Christians to personally navigate and lead others through an increasingly volatile and polarizing social climate. We're connecting biblical resolutions to justice issues through relationships with faith, community, and civic leaders; empowering them to mediate justice issues and ethnic relations.

In 2020, our movement exploded in response to the climate of America following the death of George Floyd. We had over 100,000 people participate in our actions with Civil Righteousness chapters expanding into 380+ cities, 50 states, and 5 nations. Today, we are:

ENGAGING INJUSTICE:
By continuing the work of biblical equity and reconciliation through mobilizing and raising up faith leaders that can function as peacemakers in places of conflict; and table makers in various spheres of influence. We are training teams of peacemakers in cities around the nation to become skilled advocates for transformation and reformation.

BUILDING BRIDGES:
By creating safe spaces of learning and healing through facilitated discussion between churches, civic organizations, and communities. These environments cultivate cross cultural interaction, understanding, and deep relationships. An element of divine exchange happens in these environments which we believe is critical for the healing of the nations and the completion of God's redemptive plan. As communities learn to serve one another, divine identity is discovered and divine purpose is released.

RESTORING COMMUNITIES:
We desire to stimulate restoration and economic mobility through entrepreneurial engagement and city transformation. Through strategic partnerships and generous investment, we are inititating urban development to create self-sustainable ecosystems of transformation.

Locally, we are specifically responding to three calls to action which were set forth by the 2016 Ferguson Commission. Those calls are to:

1. Engage the Faith Community in the Racial Equity Mission
Raising up faith leaders and communities that are called to engage in networks and tables of policy discussion across the region to shape how we work together and continue the discussion of racial equity and reconciliation.
2. Create Neutral Space
Creating spaces of learning and facilitated discussion between police officers, community members and groups.
3. Creating environments that cultivate cross cultural interaction, understanding, and relationship.
Support and Encourage Creative Spaces
Catalyzing economic mobility through entrepreneurial engagement and opportunity.
Encouraging Innovation and Education through strategic partnerships and creative programming.

We also serve:
1. College and University Campuses -through educational forums and discussions. (including Harvard, MIT, Yale, Baylor, Berkeley College of Music, Southern Illinois University, East Carolina University, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill)
2. Culture- through Holy Activism, Compelling Presentations, and Catalytic Events. (Including a National Day of Humility we hosted called "CLEAN", Public actions called "THE WALL", and our International annual "PRAY ON MLK" public action)
