Community Nursing Services of North East
(CNSNE), a non-profit Home Health and Hospice agency that has been providing
care to the community of North East, Pennsylvania since 1920. In 2015, we
expanded our service area to include the eastern portion of Erie County and portions of Warren
and Crawford counties. In 2025, CNSNE expanded to the 16509 zip code! 
Community Nursing Services of North East's mission is to provide a comprehensive
range of health services, improve the quality of life, optimize health and
enable people to remain in their community.  Even though CNSNE is
independent and not affiliated with any other larger organization, the agency collaborates with all local and regional physicians and facilities. 
Referrals are accepted from local hospitals as well as hospitals in Buffalo,
Cleveland, and Pittsburgh as well as many others.

Community Nursing Services of North East provides
Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy,
Medical Social Work, and Personal Care under Home Health Services.  A little known fact is that the Home Health team does work with babies and children on a limited basis. The Hospice team provides Skilled Nursing,
Medical Social Work, Spiritual Counseling, Personal Care, and Volunteer services to patients.  Hospice also provides therapy services, respite stays, and general inpatients stays as needed for the comfort of our patients and to support family members.  Bereavement Counseling is provided to Hospice families
and the community.  CNSNE hosts a monthly
Alzheimer’s Support Group for the community. 
The agency serves as a preceptor site for Gannon students who study in
the field of Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.  The agency works with other local colleges
and universities upon request.  Staff members provide blood pressure checks and educational sessions at local Senior Centers throughout the agency's service area.  

What Erie Gives Day means to CNSNE:

Monies raised during Erie Gives will be used to 

• Help subsidize private pay care, not covered by
  insurance, allowing individuals to receive personal care and
  homemaking services at significantly reduced rates.


• Provide additional support to Hospice patients and
  families not covered by insurance to ease their burden.


• Provide free programs and services to the community
  such as the agency's Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Annual Butterfly
  Release which is free and open to the public.


• Continue the agency's tradition of serving the
  community and remain a community asset beyond our 105 years.

Many of the staff members of Community Nursing Services of North East live in or have connections to the areas we serve; therefore, providing quality care to people is personal to us.  We want to thank you on behalf of our patients for your consideration in donating to our organization on Erie Gives Day!
