Community Resources for Independence

A nonprofit organization

Community Resources for Independence (CRI) services began in 1978 under Erie Independence House (EIH) as a 12 unit apartment complex providing attendant care and independent living services to people with disabilities. In 1980, Timothy Finegan became the Executive Director of EIH. This also marked the year the Federal Center for Independent Living (CIL) grant was awarded to EIH. In 1990, CRI was established and incorporated to become the managing agent for EIH and their CIL services. EIH continued managing their apartment complexes. In 1997, due to federal regulations, CRI separated from EIH to continue providing CIL and Attendant Care services to people with disabilities.

Community Resources for Independence, Inc. is committed to preserving, enhancing, and enriching the quality of life for all people with disabilities.
