Connecticut Voices for Children is a research and advocacy organization working to ensure that one day Connecticut is a thriving and equitable state where all children reach their full potential, no matter where they're from or what they look like.

Our Connecticut Families Plan is designed to advance an economy that works for everyone, not just the privileged and lucky few.

We use our research and analysis to push for policy change so that Connecticut can:

  • put more money in the pockets of hardworking families;

  • create a strong and diverse workforce free from discrimination;

  • ensure affordable housing and child care are accessible in every town across our state; and

  • promote safe, healthy and just communities for all.

Over the course of our 30-year history, we've used our research and advocacy to create the state's Earned Income Tax Credit to support the working poor; we've helped create and fund the first-in-the-nation Connecticut Baby Bond program; we've helped create the new Connecticut Early Childhood Education Endowment to fund child care like the critical infrastructure it is, and many more policies and investments that make life easier for our residents.

Despite all the progress that has been made, the challenges and threats are growing. We cannot allow the chaos and cruelty from Washington, DC to dictate what we do here in Connecticut. A ‘business as usual’ approach only worsens the harm already inflicted upon our residents, which is why movement forward must address our new reality.

If you still have hope, if you agree that dignity and prosperity for all matter, then we need you now, more than ever.
