Critters Without Litters

Spaying and neutering is the only way we, as a community, will be able to solve the pet overpopulation issue facing Kern County. From getting your own pet fixed, to telling others about the affordable options available to them for spaying and neutering their pets, to trapping community cats for altering, vaccines and release, every surgery performed helps us end pet homelessness. Fixing one pet today saves everyone from having to find a home for eight pets tomorrow.

Critters Without Litters is Kern County's oldest and most experienced low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Since opening our doors October 2012 we have performed over 129,000 spay/neuter and TNR (trap-neuter-return) surgeries for the pet owners in Kern County, stopping over 1,000,000 puppies and kittens (and all of their offspring, and so on) from adding to our pet overpopulation issue in our community. 

In 2024 alone we:

• Performed 10,408 spay/neuter and TNR surgeries
• Administered 55,303 vaccines to pets and feral/free-roaming cats, helping to keep them safe from life-threatening diseases like parvo and distemper
• Administered 2,975 microchips to help lost pets get home quickly

Your donation helps support our lifesaving efforts in several ways:

• By providing support that enables us to help pet owners when they encounter unexpected issues during their pet's surgery 
• It allows us to address the additional medical needs of feral and free-roaming cats that we may encounter during TNR surgery, allowing these homeless cats the opportunity for a better life, post-surgery
• Your support helps us maintain and repair our hospital equipment to help ensure the best outcomes for our patients
• Your support lets us focus on what's truly important - caring for the lives that come through our doors each day, and providing the best care we can while they are here with us

Critters Without Litters was founded in this community to serve the residents and pets of this community. We know the importance of helping the people and pets living right here with us, and how caring for the pets and community cats of our friends, family, and neighbors makes a better community for us all.
